District 45 Nominations, 2008

From the Desk of Immediate Past District 45 Governor, Dan Bell

It is never too early to look for leaders. Each spring, a District Nominating Committee is formed to search for candidates to fill specific District Officer positions. This year, Immediate Past District Governor Dan Bell will be Chair of the Nominating Committee. His role will culminate in recommendations of Toastmaster members as candidates to fill the following District Officer positions:

  • District Governor
  • Lt-Gov Education & Training
  • Lt-Gov Marketing
  • Public Relations Officer
  • Four Division Governors

The remaining District Officer positions of Area Governors, Secretary, and Treasurer are filled through appointment by the incoming District Governor. While the Nominating Committee will actively search for qualified officer candidates, Division Governors will also be searching for their replacements.

Information on proposed candidates should be forwarded by April 15th to the Nominating Committee Chair at danbell@eastlink.ca.

Area Governors should forward recommended names for 2008-09 Area Governors to District Governor Heather Perkins and Lt-Gov Education & Training Candice Buell by April 15th.

Interested candidates can also forward their names directly to the Nominating Committee Chair or District Governor Heather Perkins.

The Nominating Committee can nominate up to two candidates for District Governor and LGET. Two or more candidates can be nominated for Lt-Gov Marketing and Public Relations Officer. Submitted candidates who are not nominated (as well as any other qualified Toastmaster) may still run from the floor at the District Council meeting to be held Saturday, May 17, 2008.
